Central Florida Tornadoes
The Institute for Business & Home Safety's Disaster Investigation Team traveled to Central Florida on Friday to survey damage caused by a series of deadly tornadoes that tore across the state. In addition to damage elsewhere, emergency management workers estimated 1,200 of 1,500 homes in The Villages retirement community were ravaged by the storm. The team focused on affected single family homes recently constructed in The Villages' Mallory Square subdivision. IBHS engineers are reviewing the structural damage and plan to issue a report on their findings in the coming weeks.
